The stones are beautiful! I appreciate the fact that each is independently wrapped, since I will be mailing some of them to family members. They were thoughtfully packaged. The service you provide is special, and I was comforted by your thoughtfulness throughout. Linda V.
Looking for affordable cremation keepsakes? Bobrocks are less expensive than other memorial items.
These colorful stones are made with small amounts of ash securely fused between two glass discs. Choose from 12 vibrant colors. Prices start at $20/rock, 10 rock minimum which is much less than others charge for a single necklace or pendant.
You can proudly display your rocks on a shelf or carry your loved with you and no one will know what precious contents lie within unless you tell them. You will be comforted and cheered by seeing and holding the rocks, knowing your loved one is with you always.
We received my mom’s rocks and they are beautiful! We absolutely love them. I am carrying her everywhere I go now, and love the thought that I can still have a small piece of her close to me always. It is also very comforting. Dawnel K.
Frequently asked questions about Bobrocks
How big is a Bobrock?
Bobrocks are about 1-1/2 inches wide.
How much ash is needed?
Very little ash is used to produce the beautiful patterns you see, as little as one teaspoon per every 10 rocks. This allows you to disperse the majority of the ashes in accordance with your loved one’s wishes.
How long will it take to get the rocks?
Turnaround time depends on our backlog, but is often as little as one week.
Can I combine the ashes of two people?
Yes. We have made rocks that contain the mingled ashes of spouses, as well as parent/child. You can also have stones made with ashes from one individual, and then have additional stones made with mingled remains.
Can I feel the ash on the surface?
No, the ash is securely sealed into the glass.
How do I know the ash I provide is used in my stones?
All ash is weighed when it is received as well as after the rocks are made, so you can rest assured the ash you supplied is used in the rocks you receive back. If you choose to have the ash returned to you, an index card will be provided showing the initial weigh of the ash and the weight after the rocks are made.
What do you do with the extra ash?
Remaining ash can be scattered by the artist at the Oregon Coast for free, or returned to the customer for an extra fee.
Do you scatter the ash right away?
If you choose to have the remaining ash scattered, it is held for 60 days in case you want to reorder. You will receive a note telling you if there is ash remaining, and approximately how many stones could be made with it.
If I need additional rocks later on, can I get them?
Of course we are happy to accept reorders, but it is cheaper to order extra rocks with the original order than to reorder later. We encourage customers to round up on their order, as invariably more people will want one once they see them.
These were so well-received by family I find myself needing more! They are truly beautiful. Ann K.
What colors are available?
Our colorful stones are available in 12 beautiful hues – red, blue, green, turquoise, purple, clear, orange, black, pink confetti, primary confetti, and streaky indigo.
How does ash processed by “aquamation” or water bath method differ in these rocks?
Because the remains have never been exposed to heat, in the fusing process they can release gas and create a bubble. The “ash” can also be a little harder to see in the lighter-colored stones, since it is so powdery.
Where are they made?
Bobrocks are made in Oregon.
